Upon graduating from the University of Michigan with a degree in architecture, Rebecca moved to San Francisco in her early twenties to pursue a career in the design field. It was in San Francisco where she began her hatha yoga practice. She found a new passion; a passion for her own self-improvement, self-awareness, and self-realization. This commenced her journey; transforming her life of design into a life of healing and helping others.
In 2006, Rebecca completed the 500+ hour Bikram Yoga teacher training course in Los Angeles. Since then, she has been teaching full-time and continues to maintain her daily hatha yoga practice and meditation. Rebecca has had the opportunity to travel and share her passion throughout the United States, as well as Central America and Europe. Designing and owning her own yoga studio has been an inspiring opportunity to create a community and share yoga with even more people. Rebecca is also the Founder of the Pittsburgh Yoga Expo.
Rebecca approaches both teaching and her own practice with compassion, passion, and dedication. She is known for her encouraging and optimistic style of teaching that incorporates the physical alignments of the asanas with the connection of breath in an active meditation. Her positive attitude in and out of the yoga room is contagious. Her dedication to her practice has helped her to place 1st in Regional Asana Cups, and in the top 10 both nationally and internationally. Rebecca uses these events as an opportunity to motivate herself in her personal practice as well as inspire others to seek the best in themselves. Rebecca believes that yoga is be accessible to everyone. After all, ‘everyone deserves freedom of movement and clarity of thought’.
