I would say “Day 3 is done” but it isn’t true. As is true for days 1 and 2, the day doesn’t end, it carries over fluidly into the next until you aren’t sure what day it is or what day of the week! The phrase “Trust the Process” is my new mantra.
Everything in these first three days has been a steep learning curve for me. That’s not a bad thing! It’s just different than what I was prepared for!
What WAS I prepared for? I was mentally prepared for memorization…. But for some strange reason, memorization and subsequent demonstration of that memorization has been completely illusive! I am humbled by my class peers that do this with ease. I was prepared for a conducive environment in which to study, but I didn’t expect the environment to have a beautiful koi pond with numerous beautiful fish, citrus trees both fragrant with blossoms and heavy with fruit, and space to spread out and pace and practice and memorize with a study partner in this journey. I was ready physically for daily and double daily classes. However, my body aches (in a good strong tired way) from repeatedly holding postures in posture mechanics classes and in clinic.
I was ready for instruction. Yet, I am amazed at how much I have learned in these three days. I am excited beyond effective words to think about how much more I have the ability to tap into with the knowledge bank of our instructors, Mark, Zefea, Torrey and Mark thus far. I was prepared for competent instruction. I didn’t realize that the instructors would invest so much in me.
“To hold, you must first open your hand. Let go. when I let go of what I am, I become what I might be” Lao Tzu
I am humbled, I am happy and I’m good now with the phrase “It’s always your turn!”
