What’s Your Yoga Story?

Alana Whitt | Hot TT Graduate | Costa Rica 2016

All I had heard about TT was how easy and relaxing my friends trainings were and how I would come back a different person. That TT is life changing.

Indeed that was true, but not in the way I was expecting.

As opposed to thinking id come back more spiritual, meditating everyday and generally at peace, wasn’t necessarily true. But just when you think, you can’t get any stronger mentally because what life has dealt you, this training makes you not only physically stronger but mentally.

This training opened my eyes.

Practicing Non-attachment was probably the most beneficial simple concept I learned. And has benefited my life daily.

This experience wasn’t only about the yoga practice for me. It was about the strenuous steps it took to overcome every voice in your head that says “ I can’t do this “ or “ I want to quit.”

My connection with most of the class was immediate, but by the end every single person became a rock in each others life. We shared an experience not many people ever will. We saw the best of each other and saw each other at our lowest point. Some of us in tears, with hair that had gone all month without a blow dryer. Stomach bugs, emotional stressors, relationships, family.  We all related to each other in one way or another. And we were all there for each other. All of us there for the same reason. All of us supporting each other unconditionally.

I’d say it wasn’t the last day, but the last week that was the most significant. Not because of graduation or completing the training. But because by the last week every single person was exposed and raw.

The environment was the most real and honest I’d ever felt. What was happening around us felt surreal but it couldn’t have been more real. Costa Rica doesn’t lie. Its “Pura Vida”  the soil you walk on everyday took every bit of toxicity in our bodies and drew it out in one form or another.

Our practices became authentic our minds working at 100%. Determined, exhausted, sick, motivated, emotional, struggling, yet everyday able to remain tough mentally and physically – that was our group.

I came back mystified and memorized by how this training and living the Pura Vida made my mind and body transform into the most powerful tool to myself in the entire universe. I can chose to have complete control or no control at all.

Now I believe 100% in manifesting, practicing non-attachement as much as I can, and staying true to myself. I wouldn’t trade this training for anything.

It was the hardest thing I have ever done. A daily struggle mentally and physically. But felt stronger then I have ever felt when I came home to reality.

Changed, but for the better.

We all left..Living “Pura Vida”
