tap into the heart

That crazy time of year has suddenly crept up on us again. I can’t believe it is christmas again, already!

As 2012 comes to a close and we begin to reflect on the happenings and non happenings of 2012. What fell off the bottom of the list and what got lost amidst the mistletoe. We begin again to think about the coming year and setting new years resolutions.

Before you start to set intentions for 2013 don’t forget to remember how far you have come rather than how little you have done. Be grateful for all you have achieved not matter how small. Small steps take us to great places.

I know many of us have been questioning, Is the world going to end on the 21st of december or is mercury going to collide with venus and cause a planetary revolution…Luckily we are still here and alive.
The planets are causing some mahem up there right now and some serious shifting is going on for mankind. We are being stirred up, this is great. It creates movement. Disperses stagnation and even better still provokes change.

All the more reason to get away from the hustle and bustle of christmas and unroll your mat to bend, stretch and re-connect. Take some time to slow down and tap into your heart. Use this time as reflection no matter how hot it is in the yoga room. Make a conscious effort to be completely present. Focus on your breath.

I sometimes like to pull back slightly and not go so deep. To slow down and feel. This gives me the opportunity to observe the sensations in the posture.
Think of each asana as a journey, rather than striving to get your foot up over your head. Get out of your head and come back to your body and heart. There is no where to go, so why not just enjoy the process. Breath, relax and expand.

This is an important time. A new era is about to unfold for man kind. A shift in consciousness.

In your savasana stay longer, don’t rush out the room because there’s somewhere to go. Be still and focus on your heart centre, visualise your heart. The warmth within your heart, focus on the bright emerald colour of the anahata chakra. Connect with your true self. Observe. Listen.

As you set your intentions for 2013 let them come from your heart, use the creative power of your mind, visualize what you desire in your life. It is through your imagination that you can tap into this power and into your heart. See yourself having all that your heart desires in this very moment, as now. And enjoy the beauty of what your real self desires.

Rememeber that where your mind goes your energy follows…..Tap into your deepest desires, your dreams and what creates a spark inside. Leap into 2013 with a spring in your step and a whole heart.

“Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside awakens.” Carl Jung
