Still one of our most popular teacher training locations, Evolation Yoga Santa Barbara hosts experienced teachers, knowledgeable teacher trainers, newly certified and soon-to-be certified teachers, all passionate about yoga and available to help you to learn and evolve with your practice. The Santa Barbara studio is located specifically in the beach town of Carpinteria, just a short stroll from the Pacific ocean.  Our yoga studio has two yoga rooms (one heated and one non-heated); men's and women's locker rooms; free on-site parking; and a private back yard open for your convenience and comfort.

All Evolation teacher training's come inclusive with a menu selection of healthy vegan and vegetarian foods prepared and offered daily by private chefs. We promise great taste and nutrition with all of the foods that we provide but if you have any specific dietary requests (regarding food allergies or restrictions) that you may require during your training, simply let us know and we will happily discuss with you directly.

This flow yoga teacher training takes place in the Carpinteria and Montecito area of Santa Barbara County, California. Instructors for the Flow Yoga Teacher Training in Santa Barbara


Melissa Williams

Melissa is certified at the 500 level, has trained in India and has more than 1500 hours of training including Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Anusara, Yoga for Fertility, Restorative, Yin Yoga and Yoga Therapy, Pilates Mat, Pre and Post natal. Also trained for Reiki Level I and II, Holistic Healing Body Massage Therapy. Melissa, believes regular Yoga practice is key to the healing process and trained with numerous incredible teachers that have inspired her every step in her journey. Her classes are physically and mentally rewarding, inspiring others to reach into their potential. Her clear teaching style will put beginners at ease, while yogis of all levels will enjoy the contrast of a challenging practice followed by relaxation. Joining asana, pranayama, philosophy, and music – Melissa invites you to ‘listen’ to your inner voice and outer body as you practice the art of yoga and connect body, mind and spirit.


Zefea Samson

Zefea had her first experience with yoga at the age of four, when her parents practiced with the renowned teacher Angela Farmer in the Iyengar tradition. She graduated from Bikram’s teacher training in 2005 and represented the Netherlands as the Dutch gold medalist three times in the international yoga championships, all those years finishing in the world’s top ten. In 2009 Zefea and her husband, Mark Drost, founded evolation in a desire to evolve the way the primary hot series is passed on and focus on a collective and community approach. In every training she keeps learning and growing herself and aims to improve further on what she can offer her students.


Mark Drost

Mark, along with his wife Zefea, is the co-founder of evolation yoga. He has been studying yoga, the philosophy of yoga, and meditation for his entire adult life. He has been practicing Bikram Yoga for over 20 years and started teaching in 2001. He has taught in hundreds of studios around the world and mentored several hundred teachers. He has founded or co-founded many studios. His inspiration for his yoga journey is to create union in the lineage of Paramhansa Yogananda. Mark brings his 35 years of experience in this tradition to his teaching and he applies this principle of inclusion to all his classes.

Evolation Yoga is a proud Yoga Alliance registered school and partner capable of educating and empowering yogic students to become certified teachers. Cancellation Policy

Deposits for trainings are non-refundable ($2000 for 250 hours training). All money paid to Evolation Yoga for trainings is transferable for a credit to another Evolation Yoga training in the event that trainee is unable to attend the original training they booked. Extracurricular Activities (optional)

During your free time while you attend your yoga teacher training, we encourage you to study, practice and reflect upon your experience as much as possible but you are of course welcome to partake in extracurricular activities should you wish to do so.
